My Journey...

My journey into mindful movement became deeply personal during one of the most profound moments of my life. The day I gave birth to my child was also the day I lost my mother. In the space of just hours, I was holding both life and loss in my hands. The emotions were overwhelming—grief, joy, love, pain, all at once. In that moment, I turned to what I knew best: movement, breath, and mindfulness. These practices became my anchor, guiding me through the depths of loss while allowing me to embrace the new life before me. Through movement, I found a way to heal, to process, and to keep going.

That experience reaffirmed what I had always known movement is more than just exercise. It’s a way to navigate emotions, to find strength in the hardest moments, and to reconnect with ourselves when words aren’t enough.

A little bit about me...

I’m Kate, a movement specialist with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Movement has been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. My journey started with dance, where I developed a deep understanding of body awareness, rhythm, and expression. Over time, my passion for movement expanded to include Pilates, yoga, sound healing, meditation, breathwork, and movement-based wellness. With a vast knowledge of these practices, my mission is to make movement accessible and meaningful for people of all ages and backgrounds.

I work extensively in the mental health sector, using movement, breathwork, and mindfulness to support individuals in managing stress, anxiety, and emotional well-being. I’ve seen firsthand how movement can be a powerful tool for mental health, helping people regain a sense of control, presence, and connection to their bodies.

Beyond this, I also work with Parkinson’s UK, supporting individuals living with Parkinson’s through specialized movement sessions that help improve mobility, coordination, and overall well-being. Additionally, my work extends into cancer rehabilitation, where I help individuals rebuild strength, confidence, and resilience through tailored movement practices. Whether it’s working with those undergoing treatment or supporting recovery, I believe movement plays a crucial role in healing—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I also work with a wide range of individuals and communities, from children to adults and the older population. My work extends into schools, charities, and community organizations, where I help bring movement, mindfulness, and well-being to those who may not otherwise have access to these practices. I have also created bespoke exercise sessions for various organizations, tailoring movement programs to meet the specific needs of different groups, whether for rehabilitation, mental well-being, or overall fitness.

Alongside my community-based work, I deliver bespoke corporate workshops, sessions, and wellness events tailored to meet staff and workplace needs. These sessions are designed to help employees manage stress, improve posture and mobility, and cultivate mindfulness in the workplace. By integrating movement and breathwork into professional environments, I help create healthier, more balanced, and more connected teams.

At the core of my work is a commitment to breaking down barriers to exercise and movement. I understand that for many people, stepping into a movement practice can feel intimidating or inaccessible. My sessions are designed to create a welcoming environment where people feel empowered, supported, and connected. Through social group settings, I help build confidence and a sense of belonging, ensuring that movement is not just about physical fitness but also about fostering connection and well-being within a community.

Why I Created Core Movement Studio
Core Movement Studio isn’t a physical place—it’s a philosophy, a mission, and a way of sharing the power of movement with the world. I created it to bring holistic movement and wellness practices into the community, offering a blend of dance-inspired movement, Pilates, yoga, chair-based fitness, sound healing, meditation, and breathwork.

I don’t work from a single studio because I believe movement should meet people where they are—whether in community centers, schools, charities, workplaces, or wellness events. My work extends through teacher training programs, workshops, and mentorship, empowering others to share these practices in ways that are inclusive and accessible.

Movement has carried me through my greatest joys and my deepest sorrows. It has helped me heal, grow, and find balance in life’s most challenging moments. My goal is to share that gift—to help others reconnect with their bodies, build confidence, and experience the transformative power of movement, mindfulness, and sound.

Whether you’re looking to move, breathe, or guide others on their own journey, I’m here to support you. Because for me, movement isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am.

Somatic Movement

Just keep moving. Move your body, Shift your mindset.

Somatic Therapy Session

Somatic coaching focuses on helping your delve into your bodily sensations, movements, and habits, alongside your thoughts, emotions and beliefs. By engaging in somatic exercises, guided inquiries, and cultivating mindful awareness, you can develop the ability to tune into your bodies’ signals and messages this process can uncover hidden patterns, obstacles, and strenghts.

You are encouraged to cultivate a deeper connection with your physical self, fostering a sense of presence and embodiment that can lead to a profound personal transformation. As you become more attuned to your bodily experiences, you may often discover new insights and persepectives that can inform your choices and actions. This approach not only enhances personal well-being but also empowers you to navigate life’s challenges with greater grace and confidence. By integrating the wisdom of the body with the mind, somatic therapy offers a holistic path to achieving balance and fullfillement.

Our bodies are sacred vessels that hold our stories,  journeys, and even the unspoken emotions within us. They often carry more than we realise. TRAUMA, whether significant or minor, can settle in our muscles, tissues, and even the intricate fibers of our nevous systems.

However, movement serves as one of the most powerful keys to release this hidden burden. Whether through yoga, dance stretching, or simply walking, engaging our bodies allows us to connect with and gently release those trapped emotions. Movement goes beyond mere exercise; it transforms into sacred practice of HEALING, self-love and self-care.

These small yet meaningful nurturing acts, combined with movement, create a sanctuary for our bodies and minds to heal together. It is not about striving for perfection, but rather a commitment to be present for ourselves, to approach life with intention, and to allow our bodies the freedom to express what words often fail to convey.

A conventional Somatic Coaching Session usually starts with a check-in to evaluate your present state and objectives for the session. I will then lead you through a series of Somatic exercises or activities designed to enhance embodied awareness and exploration. Following this, we will engage in reflective dialogue and inquiry to enrich understanding and insights. The session wraps up with integration and grounding practices to help you solidify your learnings and experiences.

Inner Balance Meditation

Holistic, inclusive, and accessible approach to meditation that goes beyond traditional methods.

Why Kate Created Core “Inner Balance” Meditation Sessions

Kate created Core “Inner Balance” Meditation Sessions to offer a holistic, inclusive, and accessible approach to meditation that goes beyond traditional methods. She recognized that many people struggle with meditation due to rigid structures, misconceptions, or an inability to sit still for long periods. By integrating somatic meditation, breathwork, and mindfulness, she designed a space where individuals could reconnect with themselves in a way that feels natural and embodied.

What Makes Core “Inner Balance” Different?

Unlike traditional meditation practices that often emphasize stillness and mental focus alone, Inner Balance Meditation Sessions incorporate somatic meditation, which engages the body as well as the mind. Somatic meditation focuses on:

  • Body Awareness – Helping individuals tune into physical sensations to release tension and trauma.
  • Movement & Breathwork – Encouraging gentle movement and deep breathing to support nervous system regulation.
  • Emotional Processing – Providing a safe space to process emotions rather than suppress them.
  • Mindfulness in Action – Teaching how to integrate mindfulness into everyday life, not just during meditation practice.

This approach makes meditation more accessible to those who find traditional methods challenging, including individuals with anxiety, chronic stress, or trauma. It also encourages those who believe they “can’t meditate” to experience the benefits in a way that works for them.

Inner Balance creates a welcoming, non-judgmental space where individuals can explore meditation without pressure or expectation. The sessions are designed to be practical and adaptable, meaning people of all backgrounds and experience levels can participate.

  • Guided Sessions with clear instructions help beginners feel at ease.
  • Group Support fosters a sense of connection and shared experience.
  • Accessible Practices ensure that anyone, regardless of physical ability or lifestyle, can benefit.

By offering a variety of techniques—including guided meditation, sound healing, breathwork, and gentle movement—Inner Balance empowers individuals to discover what resonates with them and develop a practice that supports their unique journey.

The Benefits of Core “Inner Balance” Meditation Sessions

  • Reduced Stress & Anxiety – Through breathwork and mindfulness, they learn to regulate emotions.
  • Greater Body Awareness – Somatic techniques help release tension and increase self-connection.
  • Emotional Resilience – Meditation helps individuals process and navigate emotions more effectively.
  • Better Sleep & Relaxation – Deep relaxation techniques improve overall well-being.
  • A Sense of Community – Practicing in a group fosters a feeling of belonging and support.
